Eye Emergencies

In many cases, eye problems such as conjunctivitis and dry eye can be dealt with by our Optometrists without the need for a time-consuming GP or hospital visit. Should, however, you experience extreme symptoms such as flashing lights, severe pain or sudden loss of vision, our Optometrists will refer you to the local eye casualty department for attention. Should this be necessary at any time we will always check to ensure that the local service is available at the time required; should this not be the case we would refer you either to Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, or Addenbrookes in Cambridge, where a 24 hour, 7 day a week Eye Casualty service is available.

Should you experience a severe problem on a Sunday or Bank Holiday when the Practice is closed, the Hospital route should always be your first course of action, do not wait until Monday!
